  • Final review meeting

Stages of service offered by QTF Homes, timber frame kit supplier:

Stage 1: In order to quote for your project we will require a layout of your site plans (you can send these to Our team will review  the plans and send you back a quote and consultation date to meet with you to discuss your self build future.

Stage 2: On approval of our quotation provided to you the client, we will be in touch to organise start and end dates so that you can continue to organise your self build.

Stage 3: Following the approval your plans are sent to our design team who will prepare accurate manufacturing drawings to manufacture your timber frame kit to the precise size.

Stage 4: Once your projects foundations are completed the timber frame kit is delivered, the panels can be assembled on site (QTF Homes timber frame kits can be deliver and assemble onsite throughout the UK and Ireland.

Stage 5: Following this the roof is constructed, sheathed and battened, and finally the windows and external doors fitted.

Stage 6: Once the shell is watertight the internal trades can start work, as the walls are dry-lined, there is no drying out time required for wet plaster prior to decorating.

A timber frame kit can take anything from three days to several weeks to erect, depending on the size, the site and weather conditions (The off-site construction and speedy erection means that bad weather on site is less of a problem). From the outside your timber-framed house the outer decorative ‘skin’ is finished in the same way as any traditional block house, using bricks, stone, timber cladding or rendered blockwork.

We recommend to ensure speed for your project that you find labour that is comfortable working with timber frame as it is harder than with brick and block, but most work can be done by us (delivery and installation) we can also recommend laborers we have worked with on previous projects to help. Always look for industry accreditation, such as TRADA or the UKTFA’s Q-mark.
