Timber Frame homes in Northern Ireland are on the raise following latest industry reports published by the Structural Timber Association (STA). The reports have highlighted a significant growth in use of structural timber frame in Ireland and the UK over the past 12 months.
The market share increased in the UK in 2015 for Timber Frame houses to 27.6%, and is on secluded to reach a 32.4% market share by 2018.
Current market share of 27.6% indicates the increasing number of self builders who are choosing to turn away from conventional block self builds and are more inclined to choose a timber frame build which is having increasing benefits on home self builders and property developers.
Andrew Carpenter, Chief Executive of the Structural Timber Association said: “Following the release of The Farmer Review, which indicates the urgent need for the construction sector to utilize the benefits of pre-manufacture to modernise, in order to meet Government house building targets, the latest Timber Trends report clearly demonstrates that mind-sets are changing and evolving.
